Why This Site Exists
Michigan makes many existing government records available through agency portals and the Freedom of Information Act, but those records do not sit in one database. The Baraga County Sheriff holds local booking and release records. The Michigan Department of Corrections runs OTIS, which can show prisoner, parolee, probationer, absconder, and recently discharged status. Courts hold the orders and case history that may explain bond, dismissal, sentence, or probation. Federal releases use a separate Bureau of Prisons locator.
This site brings those official routes, request steps, and custody distinctions into one reference. It does not combine them into a new government record. That distinction matters in Baraga County because the Sheriff-operated jail and Baraga Correctional Facility are different systems, even though both facilities are within the county.

What We Cannot Do
Baraga County Released Inmates is privately operated. It has no connection to the Baraga County Sheriff, Baraga County Jail, Michigan Department of Corrections, any court, or any other government body.
- We cannot release, detain, or transfer a person.
- We cannot post bond, arrange visits, or send funds for a visitor.
- We cannot provide legal advice or act for a records requester.
- We cannot promise that an office name, fee, phone number, or address has not changed.
Only the agency that holds the person or created the record can confirm current custody, charges, release, transfer, or discharge.
Search Partners
Some search boxes are supplied by outside providers. Those providers set their own prices, terms, data practices, and result coverage. If a visitor follows a tool to a paid enrollment, this site may receive a referral fee that helps keep its reference pages free. Baraga County Released Inmates does not set partner prices and cannot control or certify partner results.
