For a named person released from the jail, the home page explains the full Sheriff, court, MI-VINE, and FOIA path. State parole or probation questions belong with the linked MDOC field office, while OTIS and formal MDOC records cover state prisoners. Federal Bureau of Prisons and ICE locators apply only when those systems actually assumed custody.

  • Ask the Sheriff whether a specific booking ended in community release or transfer.
  • Use District Court for misdemeanors and early felony events, then Circuit Court for felony disposition and sentence records.
  • Use the county FOIA coordinator for an existing Sheriff booking or release record.
  • Use OTIS, MDOC FOIA, and the Michigan Parole Board for a sentenced state prisoner.
  • Use MI-VINE for participating-agency status and future event notices.
  • Use the facility pages in the footer when the correct custodian is known.
